74-78 to 70 conversion

I'm planning on converting a 74-78 camaro to look like a 70. Any one on here ever done this? The front will be easy but the rear is going to take some doing. I have seen a t/a that was done before and look sweet.

75+ has a different rear window.

1970-1973 Rear:

1974 Rear:

1975-1977 Rear:

1978-1981 Rear:

A 74 model would be your best bet, but even then it'll take some work to make the rear right.

Would you be doing the work yourself or paying someone to do it for you? Because body work like that doesn't come cheap.

P.S. - I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, just wondering if you thought of all the costs involved with getting this done. That's a lot of welding and paint prep work. I'd check all the costs involved (including the cost of a donor car, unless you have one already) versus just finding a 70-73 body.

Sweet, looks like you should have it all under control. Post pics of the process while you're doing it, it's not something you see done all the time!

I will do that . I'm doing it because in my area people want 2500.00 for a total pile for junk if its 70 to 73 camaro. You can get 74 to 78 that runs and drives for around 1500.00.
