Question Hood Clearences with Victor Jr. intake

Did anybody have any issues with a stock hood using the Edebrock Victor Jr intake #2975 or similar intakes? My car is a 1985 Iroc-Z, I would like to use my stock hood for the time being until I can get a cowl hood. Any air cleaner recommendations?

Vic jr is a great intake for clearance. I wish I knew who made my drop base. It drops so much I need a 1/2" spacer so it doesn't hit my vent tubes.....very cool. It might be moroso. I use a 3" K&N Extreme setup. Top part breathes. I think I also got away with an Air Gap RPM intake which is more than an inch taller than a Vic jr. Goodluck!

Thanks, that good to know I was worried about the hood smashing the cleaner. So you think a 1" drop base w/ 3" filter should work. Later sometime this summer or maybe next year I'll like to get a 2" cowl hood and I'll throw a 1" spacer under the carb for MORE POWER!!! Thanks Man!

you should be fine. Im running a performer RPM with a 1in spacer, a quadrajet, and a 2.5 inch filter

BTW I had a Victor Jr with that drop base, a 3" filter, and the filter lid thing that K&N makes and it fit under my factory flat hood.
