NBC Detroit Auto Show

Just today about an hour ago GM is first up on the show not a mention of the Camaro. Not even a looksy. It seems the theme for the auto show is ELECTRIC and high mileage. Ford was shown with the 2010 Mustang 500 , Dodge was shown with the Challenger. They even interviewed Wagner with no mention of the car..... So what gives people...............

The answer is in your post when you said: "It seems the theme for the auto show is ELECTRIC and high mileage." Sure, the Camaro will approach 30 MPG, but that's not good enough for the car haters. I'm sure that with the press, the Democrats, and the taxpayers keeping an eagle eye on the Big 3, GM isn't real anxious to promote a "politically incorrect" (not my opinion) car like the Camaro. They get a lot more mileage out of portraying themselves as green. What a shame that it's come to this.

I missed the Chevy portion of the show, but Ford and NBC had no problem talking about the 2010 Mustang and pointedly mentioning the 500+ HP version.

Could not have said it better myself! It is a shame that it has come to this and a shame that cars that many people love, like sports cars, are in jeopardy because of some very ignorant politicians/environmentalists in this country...We really should not be surprised though that there was no mention of the Camaro, just look at the title of the thread and see what media network was covering this

Gee, you seem to be real busy posting the same "Camaro is dead" garbage on multiple forums, why don't you give it a rest.

Dear Mr. Troll:

The horse you're beating is deader than the Camaro will ever be. Move on.

Name the last thing produced by NBC that was well done. NBC stands for "Nothing But Commercials"; i.e., very little substance.

They showed the Mustang GT and GT500 and they also showed the Dodge Challenger R/T and some exotics that could never be considered eco-friendly. So don't tell me they focused on high mileage and electrics.

I think GM should "announce" they are making a Camaro hybrid. Then a yr. later cancel it due to lack of funding.

Thank you!!! Now, again, why was the Camaro not even mentioned!
To me this is outrageous. Hopefully some Chevy insiders can give us the real
answer.

They mentioned the Camaro on the Today show just a couple weeks ago. Matt Lauer said something along the lines of it being his favorite and that he thinks it's going to be really popular.
