Ok I bought an extra ZR1 SS wheel, I was told that its an OEM GM ZR1 wheel, but its got a sparkle in it, where as the 8 other ZR1's that came on both my SS's dont have this sparkle.....

so whats going on what that?

 

Most of the ZR1's in circulation aren't OEM. The "sparkle" is probably GM's way of marking the originals. I don't have any sparkle on mine, but then agian, I know they're not originals.

 

The "sparkle" isnt on the originals, as the SS has the originals.

A buddy works in the GM warehouse her, and looked for me today, he called me and said all 44 that htey have in the warehouse are not sparkily..... (he said he was bored)

this sucks, havent heaard back from the seller yet either.

 

I think mine have the "sparkle" you are referring to. Im just taking a guess here, but I think they were bought from SLP by a previous owner of the car.

 

My original GM ZR1's where more of a flat silver. The one's I got from Discount Tire have that sparkle or metalic look to them. I like the GM's better, Oh Well.

 

Maybe they are jsut really clean?


My NBM car didn't have any sparkle in it but the more and more I have been polishing it a sparkle has been coming out.

I have a sparkle in my Zr1s... its not outragous, but its there.... I put on like 6-7 coats of zaino on them with lots fo Z6 shine enhancer.

Maybe its just really clean and has lots of sparkle left in it.

Mine are GM originals. BOught them off a guy who bought them off GM(not even SLP) GM stamp on the side.

I dont think I could polish that sparkle in.
the on the right is hugely mangled. on the left one single I bought.
