Will they slow me down?

Going from 16" aluminum rims to 18" chrome rims. I know they will probably be heavier but despite the weight will the size matter?

well I have them on my car, and with just bolt ons, im very please with my amount of power I still have

i doubt youll notice with your mods

Well, as you pointed out, they'll probably be heavier, which will rob some power. How much?
Also, if you're keeping the same overall diameter, then you're going to have a lot less sidewall on the tire, and may lose some launch traction since you'll have less sidewall flex.
