I have 275/50/r15 with 10.5" of tread on my 69 w/ 15"x8" rally's and they just fit with about a 1/4" clear on each side. but on the 8's they really tapper in to the rim, so I was wondering if 10" rims will fit. if so what would be the back space. I was thinking of the 15" torq thrust. Thanks

 

Yes they will fit. Here is a pic of my '69 with a 10" rim and 28"X10" slicks. I also ran 275/50/15 tires on it.

 

Thanks for the reply, that's good news, do you know what back space you have. and after seeing your car Steve what do you turn in the 1/4 and are you using pump gas

 

The back spacing on my rims are 4-3/4". Rims with 5" or 5-1/4" BS would work a little better.

With the old 13:1 compression 350 on a 175 shot my car ran ten teens at 132. I ran it on pump gas around town but raced it on 116.

 

I think the rims on my 69 are 9 or 9.5 wide I have 12.5 x 28 et streets on them and have just a little bit of scubbing at times going around curves on street driving.

 

Largest I could fit was a 9.5 w/5" bs. Still had to cut the inner wheel well out.
