I planning on buying new tires for my car and am stuck. I have 18x10.5 inch wide rims in the back and was going to buy 315/30/18 BFG drag radials for them. Or should I buy cheaper street tires like 285/40/18 and buy MT et street radials for a pair of 16x8 salad shooters I have sitting around. Basically what i'm asking is would 255/50/16 MT et drag radials hook up better than BFG 315/30/18 drag radials?

Why go with just drag radials on a spare set of wheels? I'd go with some MT et streets or some all out slicks on the saladshooters. I'd go 315 on the 18x10.5's too but I just like 315's

 

Do you think I will have bad rubbing problems with 315'S on a 18x10.5 wheel. I know I'll have to take the bump stops out and possibly pound out some areas of the wheel well. I know people put 315's on 17x11 inch wheels all the time, but haven't heard of anyone putting 315's on 18x10.5 and running them on 4th gen fbody's.

 

I'm pretty sure people have run them. if no one has I will be as soon as I get around to ordering wheels... I'll make em fit one way or another

 

I'm getting 17x11's and I'll just need to pound the inside of my fender wall. That is about it.

 

M/T ET Street Radials Hook up better than ET Streets, an ET Drag with or w/out tubes will be best bet..
