Do you actually cut the whole bump stop off? Don't we need that?
What else do I need to plan on doing?
I've had people tell me that they didn't have to do a thing, then I've heard people say the opposite.
I'll be going with KDs. Anyone that knows the correct offset for 17x11 TT2s let me know. I've got 44mm offset right now with my 17x9.5s.

Adjustable Panhard rod and a 10lb rubber mallet to bang the inner fenders.

There is a detailed description of the mods, including photos in the FAQ "stickied" at the top of the Wheels and Tires forum topic list. Scroll down to a post in the middle of the thread.

Do NOT remove the bump stop. You will need to grind the side of it but dont cut it off.
Re: What surgery is needed for 315s?
installed my 315/30/18's last weekend. all i had to do was bash in the fender walls......................no bump stop mod was needed, i drove hard to verify..lol

This is a pic of my bump stop next to stock-sized 245mm tires on stock 8" wheels:

There's a little more than 1/4" of space between the tire and the bump stop.
Nate wants to mount tires that are 70mm (2.75") wider than mine. How is that possible without completely removing the bump stops?

your car is up on a lift in that picture, imagine the suspension under the weight of the car, and compressed up a few inches.Originally Posted by JakeRobb

Okay, so the bump stop will be inside the edge of the wheel, right?Originally Posted by Blue89Bird

Still, how would you mount it? Your suspension isn't compressed when you're mounting a wheel on the hub...

You COULD jack the car up by the rear axel Still, how would you mount it? Your suspension isn't compressed when you're mounting a wheel on the hub...

There are many people on this board (like myself and Injuneer) that are running 11" wide rear wheels with 315's, and with intact (modified) bump stops. Removing them is a big mistake. My rear axle can go from full droop to contact with the bump stop without any wheel interference. And I can jack my car up from the side, as well.Originally Posted by JakeRobb

Nate just needs to be sure to pick wheels with the appropriate offset. Many people are using 17x11's with +50mm offset.
