i read through the faq and have come to the understanding that weld prostars need special lugs. these are them
Part # 601-1422
X-TRA LONG MAG SHANK
1.380" Shank Length X .687 Diameter
12MM x 1.5 RH Open End Nuts with Centered Washers
my question is why do i need these exact ones? is anyone else running any lugs that work well, and are a little bit cheaper? i also can't seem to find lingenfelter's studs on their site, but i i ultimately care about is the price (i know i can't be cheap to race, but i would like to spend as wisely as possible). i saw on injuneer's car how close the lug was to the thread, but that is ok with me as long as it passes tech. i also don't mind having longer studs. having studs stick out does not bother me in the slightest. any suggestions?
it seems that the mr.gasket spacer is the cheapest. for any of the moderators, i will be mounting these on my 94 that i swapped ls1 brakes on, so if you would like to to do any documentation for the FAQ let me know and i will be sure to do so.
i looked on thunder racing's web site. they have gorilla lug nuts that are 1.38" in length minus the hex on the top, 2.3" total long and .685 diameter. is the shank length there to go through the wheel? i have never seen these on a car and am wondering why the shank needs to be so long.

There are other brands of shank-style lugs available, so all you need to do is find another manufacturer with the exact same specs. Look in the Summit and JEG's catalogs. Do not depart from the Weld specifications.... must be 0.687" outside diameter, must not be longer, or significantly shorter than 1.380", must include a centered flat washer.

The Lingenfelter studs do not look like the photo.... they have a much longer unthreaded length on the end.

awesome! thanks a lot. 30 bucks cheaper, which i can defintely appreciate right now. did you order all of your stuff from lingenfelter, or just the studs?
