Trying to decide on new wheels

I'm going to be ordering some new wheels in the next couple months, and need some advice.

I'm almost certain I want the Z06 replicas in black with a silver lip. I think I want to get 18x9.5.

Now, what I'm conflicted about is tire sizes. I think 245s up front and 275s in back would be good.

Any general advice?

Well if your going 9.5 all around, why not go with a 275 tire all around so that you can rotate your tires. If you want to go with the staggard look, go for the 10.5" wheel in the back so that you can go with some wider tires in the back. The idea in your post would be the least desireable IMO.

What you're saying makes sense. I was thinking that I just wouldn't need a 275 up front, and could just go with the 245. I completely forgot about the whole rotating tires thing, though, so that actually sounds pretty good.

Well the wider tire you go with, the more agressive look your car is going to have. The only down side I can think of to wider tires is that they tend to follow "grooves" in the road more than a narrower tire. Not really a big deal though, the SS and WS6 models come with a 275 tire from the factory.

Re: Trying to decide on new wheels

Haha, I don't know if I want 315s, the cost will just be ridiculous.

WIll the 275s be noticably louder than my current 245s?

Also, does anyone know a good place to get 18x9.5 black z06 replica wheels for a good price?

Also, what tire would you recommend?

Re: Trying to decide on new wheels

just compare the back of a SS with yours.........they come with 275's stock.

Nitto 555r
Hankook K104
Fuzion ZRi

BFgoodrich KDW (that would be my choice of the 4)

really depends on what you want the tires for. What will u be doing the most and what is your main concern???

Re: Trying to decide on new wheels

Well, it's my daily driver. I don't take it to the track, I don't really street race (if someone pulls up next to me, I guess I'll run them, but I'll shut it down before 80 or so). Just looking for generally good tires that won't have me sliding in the rain, but will give me decent traction.

Thanks for the tire recommendations.
