I bought a set of the 99 c5 vette wheels off a friend of mine for cheap. But the tires that came on the wheels were low profile tires (the wheels came off a kit car and needed shorter side walls), and i need to change to the correct size tire. Im thinking it is a 45 series thats supposed to be on there, but im not sure. I have the 17s in the front and 18's in the back. Im really not even sure how wide they are... 9.5 maybe? Either way i was wondering what is the correct tire size that came on the vette wheels from the factory? Thanks in advance.

I have 265/35/18 in the front and 295/35/18 on the rear of my vette wheels. But since you have 17s, I'd probably do 275/45/17s for the fronts.

 

275/40/17 would be the proper size

 

I'd stick with 30 or 35's and simply lower the car..

 

OE sizes are 17x8.5 and 18x9.5. A 275/40/17 will bulge and look wrong for the front. OE Vette sizes are 275/40/18 and 245/45/17.
