i dont know why you guys are atacking me no crap theres a diffrence. thats what im saying he says in his post bfgs he is thinking about them.and thier are good street tires and summitomo arent one of them just buy visa than its better and cheaper i dont understand how you can say its a good tire?if you want a rock hard rubber tire with little to know traction that is the tire for you!!!maybe if you r car is automatic, stock horse power v6 it wont spin to bad but on my car these tires did nothing. i will stand buy my statement its a fact!!!!!hey bro good luck dont waste your money you wont be happy with those tires.spend a little more i know people runing pilot street tires and bfg t/a thier traction is good there not drags.i have bfg drags was a little surprised about amount of tread i havent tried m/t but guessing thier better.
I believe that he is talking about BFG street tires, there is no mention of drag radials in his post. You are comparing apples to oranges and as far as street tires go, the Sumitomo is a pretty good tire for the price. Nobody is comparing them to any top of the line tires, they are a budget tire at a budget price. As far as your car blowing them off, my car made 300 RWHP and 314 RWTQ and they don't get blown off on my car, I get decent traction for a street tire. I find it hard to believe that yours does with as little mods that you have.

My dad just bought a 1996 LT4 vette. I want him to put some Chrome ZR1's with 17x11 in the rear. Would these be a good tire? They are pretty much the only ones I can find that don't cost 300 bucks a piece. He will prolly only put 2,000 miles on the car a year. What do you guys things?

My car is a garage baby and is MAYBE driven about 500 miles a year. That is why I bought the Sumitomo's. I couldn't see any reason in spending $1000.00 plus on tires for a car that is going to sit in the garage nearly all year. I think that they would suit your dads vette just fine.

if your car sits in the garage and isnt a dailly driver why not put drag radials? my tires were 188 each thats not 1,000 so it was 370 for backs and thats all that need s traction fronts put regular tires think of it a full second of my 0 to 60.thats like adding a supercharger lolololo

It's pretty simple, because I don't need nor want drag radials. My car is a street car through and through, I don't take it to the strip, I don't race it. I drive it for recreation and to car shows, that's it. When I get to the point that I want to take it to the strip, I'll put some ET streets on my stock rims or get some drag lites and tires. When my FI engine is done, if the cars puts down 650+ to the tires, I still won't put drag radials on. I really don't feel like having my paint sand blasted and I don't want the hassle of being all over the roadway of it rains on me.

Re: Sumitomo HTR Z

Thats exactly what my dad said. I was just going to have him get NT555 for the front and NT555R in the rear. He just didnt want drag radials because there is no need for them. And im sure he would want to take it up to KC everynow and then to see my sister. When I had my nittos on my mustang I hated them on the highway because they picked up everything. It sucked.
