Stupid Question

i have 17'' SS 10 spoke wheels.... you can see them if you click on the myspace link.... are they chrome or polished alluminum... i went to by cleaner this weekend i and bought it for chrome wheels. It said it was corrosive and i shouldnt use it on polished alluminum.

Thanks

Re: Stupid Question

If GM uses the same "chroming" process on the SS wheels as they do the Z28s, they're chromed steel and should be washed only with car wash soap.

I have the chromed steel wheels on my car, tried using a fancy wheel cleaner and it actually took off very small pieces of the chrome finish in some inconspicuous places.
