Stripping Chrome Wheels

Anyone have an idea about how much it would cost to get the chrome stripped off of a wheel while leaving a smooth finish? If I did this, I would want to be able to paint or powdercoat the wheel, so it can't have a rough finish.

I just had 4 chrome wheels sandblasted for $60. That is the only way i could get the chrome off to paint them.

Sweet, how did it turn out? Was the finish somewhat smooth? Got any pics?
