Recomend me soem D/R's... and maybe some drag wheels...

Tried a search.. not much on comparison.

I'm plannin on goin to the track this spring. Going to save up and make the car legal for it douring the off season. I'll be mounting a set of D/R's on my stock wheels for the track.

Was thinking of Nitto 555r's, or BFG's....

Anyone know which will be a better performer and won't be too brutal on the 10B.

Also, where can I get a set of strictly drag wheels.. like draglites? -for cheap.

I'd suggest just buying a set of used stockers... they can be had pretty cheap.

Other choices for DRs would be Hoosier and Mickey Thompson.

I'll be watching this thread, 'cause I'm looking at getting some DRs too.

Just to clarify, when you guys suggest M/T "ET Streets", do you mean the bias-ply tire or the radial? I'm assuming radial, since the OP was looking for drag radials.

M/T's... alright....... and I have stocker wheels... Was thinkin about a set of draglits for the future, just don't know were to get them. Not that brand specifically, just a set of ultra light drag wheels I can use at the track.

Anyone need a good set of Toyo Proxes 4?... I have two tires I can sell.

and you lost me on the radial/ bias ply Question.

Mickey Thompson has both "ET Streets" which are bias-ply wrinkle-wall tires that use tubes, and "ET Street Radials" which are, naturally, radials and are tubeless. Bias-ply construction, while quaint for street tires, is still the king when it comes to drag racing, allthough drag radials are constantly closing the gap.

The "ET Streets" are a better drag racing tire, the "ET Street Radials" are a much more appropriate street tire, but are still good at the track.

I'm running M/T ET Street Radials on my stockers... 255/50/16.

They stick like a sonovabitch

I hate running them on the street though because the *** end of the car wanders and squirms all over the road. I just drive them to the track, and when I come home, they come off. I keep the amount of street driving I do with them to the absolute bare minimum.

I'm told the MT's and Hoosiers are best though the hoosiers shouldnt be used on the street. I loved my BFG's.

That's the thing, my track is about an hour from here. Alamo to El Paso.... Depending how fast you drive..

I've got a buddy w/ a suburban, I can just throw them in back and head out.
