These are silver AFS ZR1's, although I'd have to admit that polished aluminum looks best...

I've got 275's because I thought it would rub without a panhard but I've had no issues at all and will go to 315's next round. -Ivan:cool: |

I dont come in this forum much i guess...I didnt think this thread would be complete without my contribution. So here it is.With both the stock painted GM ZR1's and some polished aftermarket replicas. Car was lowered 1.25'' before the replicas. 315/35/17's outback 275's in front. Car is a little dirty in all the pics.

So these tires and rims will for sure fit on these cars with only some hammering and grinding possibly. Just makin sure cuz I wanna get some for my car but I wanna kno they will fit first. And I have read about this in the faq's section but I'm just double checking. And u say u might need to adjust the rear end so would u recommend getting an adjustable pan hard bar before putting these tires on?
|
There are numerous pictures on this site of cars with the 17x11 50mm (and 45mm) offset wheels. They are on there, so they fit. The precautions, including the possible need for the adjustable panhard rod, are all covered in fairly clear detail in my FAQ writeup. I would check your car the way it sits now to see if the body is correctly centered side-to-side over the rear axle assemly. If your measurements show it is signficantly off-center, you will have a problem with the 17x11 wheels unless you correct it by recentering the body with the adjustable panhard rod. Find out if your car sits off-center now. Then determine if you need an adjustable panhard rod.
There is also a "caution" that there seems to be a very wide range of tolerances in the back end of the 4th Gens. I had to do a lot to get them to fit. Others have said they did it without doing any of the thing I did. May be related to the actual width and sidewall profile of the tires used, or it may just be the rear end build tolerances in the car. There is no ABSOLUTE guarantee that anything will fit. But the evidence would suggest that there is a high probabilty of success. |
