Question Painting Rims

Is there any way that you can paint your rims yourself. Lets say i had Silver rims but i wanted them like a gunmetal color or something like that, is there any way to paint the rims and what all would you need? Ive been looking at some wheels that are silver but i would really like them in a gunmetal color b/c i think that would look good with my car being silver. Im sure theres got to be some paint somewhere that would look good and last a while on some wheels. Anybody know of anything?

Sherwin-Williams makes a paint called Direct to Metal (DTM) and it sticks to metal extremely well and comes in a package black color. It's also very resistent to heat and one gallon will run you about $55. One gallon is more than enough for your rims, but if a buddy wants to do his too, you can split the cost and have enough paint for 8 rims.
