I just ordered a set of 17X8 IROC replica wheels for my sons '91 RS. The tire salesman suggested 245X45X17.

Does this sound right. I was thinking someone else suggested a 245X50X17. the salesman said that might be too tall.

Suggestions or experience from anyone please?

What are the sizes of the rims and tires that are currently on the car?

 

I had 255-40-17's on mine.

 

would you like an excell spreadsheet that will tell you the width and height of any tire size you input?

I never SAID I doubted him! I just wanted some feedback from other board members with their experiences. I know some salesman (and not all) don't give a rats *** how it looks.

I'm picking up the car Friday. It currently has a set of American Eagle polished style 055 15 X 7 unilugs w/ Radial TA's. I personally think the AE wheels would look better on a truck.

I've no idea what happened to the original wheels that came on it. The seller just stated that he installed the AE wheels about 8 yrs. ago. I need to ask about the original wheels, he might still have them and forgot to mention. He kept everything else from the window sticker to the original keys and punchouts.

I did find an Excel spreadsheet somewhere and it appears that the mph's will be off less than .9 mph.
