Opinion on this rim/tire package

With a set of bilsteins on the way and brand new set of brakes front and back sitting here, all I have left to do for this year's upgrade project is a set of tires/wheels. I've been scouring craigslist for months now for a used set of c5 or zr1 vette wheels with usable tires...I've seen them on in the past (when I didn't have the cash) for between $400-$600 but you think I can find them now? Anyway if I went brand new, this is all that's in the budget and I'm looking for honest opinions of anyone that's owned these wheels/tires in the past, or something similar from the company. I think they look sharp...and the tires seem to get good reviews too. I mean I know we're not talking goodyear or michelin here but I don't have a grand for just tires. The main advantage to these over the staggered vette wheels is with all rims/tires being the same size...i'd be able to swap them front and rear to squeeze more life out of them when I rotate...Opinions?

That's a good looking wheel.

Note that replica wheels are generally not nearly as high-quality as the factory wheels they aim to replicate. Lots of people buy them and never have trouble, but still worth noting.

Thats where I bought my tires and the same wheels from. No problems. I really like the wheels. I went with 11s in the rear. Look in my garage to see the pics. I have had them for about 2 years. Also pics in the review I did on OE wheels on their web site under the 17X9.5/19X11 polished ZR1 wheels. As you noted the tires are not great but they do ok.

Looks like a good deal to get you rolling. You can always upgrade tires when funds allow. You may like the fronts but if they suck you can upgrade to something stickier that doesn't push or upgrade the rears if you need more traction, etc. Expect disappointment and you might be pleasantly surprised.. haha. Probably my favorite rim still on a f body.

Re: Opinion on this rim/tire package

those are GREAT looking rims.. I had been looking forever on craiglist and ebay for a set of C5 untill I figured that I am prob just going to get them off oe wheel... I actually picked up a set of REAL "SS" Camaro rims on craiglist and they look GREAT on Camaro's.

I say go with that site between the C5's and the ZR-1's thye are both real nice, but the C5's are a little more clean looking and in my opinion are slighlty nicer.

GOOD LUCK! & post pics when you have installed your new set!
