Old Man Needs Fitment Help

Were planning in running Hoosier Quick time Pro Drag D.O.T. tires on a 3rd Gen with a standard axle and wheel opening. I've been told that the 26x9.5x15" on a 8" rim with 4.5" backspacing is a good fit. Can a 26x11.5x15
on a 10' rim be used without any clearance problems and what would the backspacing be? Thank's for the help. Track opens April 16th.

Re: Old Man Needs Fitment Help

Should fit but a 5.5" backspacing would be better.

11.5" wide DOT tire is measured across the section width of the tire. Tread width is less.

26 x 9.5 x 15 has a section width of 9.5" on an 8" rim
26 x 11.5 x 15 has a section width of 10.8" on an 8" rim. Putting it on a 10" rim might move the section width out slightly. These are designed for 8-10" rims.

I can't see any clearence problems with either of these tires. They're not tall enough to cause height problems.

I ran MT ET Drag 28 x 9 on a 10" rim with 5.5" backspace that have a section width of 10.8" with no fender modifications at all.

My current 29.5 x 10.5 tires are huge. Total height is 29.9" and the section width is 13.1" but I now have a bunch of inner fender modifications to get them to fit.

Note: Your ISP rejects my mail because my ip is on some blackhole list from a previous ip owner.
