Nitto NT450 Extreme Performance?

Hello,

Just wondering if any of you know anything about these tires? They are on the TA I just bought, and are like new. I had Kumho 711's on my Z28, which is better? Thanks for any info!!

I had them on my 91 Z28. I was pleased with them as far as handling went, but they weren't that great for straight line traction. Overall definatly a good buy for the $, but I like the 555s on my 96 better

I had some on my '95 when I bought it too. They weren't horrible, just not great. I think you get what you pay for in them. Mine didn't last too long and they were also pretty hard.

If they're new just keep 'em if you're not planning on racing much.

So you guys think I would get a better ride and better traction by switching to the Kumho 711?

Re: Nitto NT450 Extreme Performance?

I have owned 2 sets of the NT450's. They are an excellent 'street' tire, as in not doing anything performance related. They will get you from point a to point b, rain or shine. terrible winter tire though. i dont even think they are rated for snow traction. I'd recommend the Kuhmo ESCTA Supra 712, I can vouch for them.

LOL, I have the 712 and I'd rate them just the same way you rated the NT 450.

In the rear I spun them at will, up front they easily push straight when turning. When I was re-doing my wheels, I got a real good look at how out of round they are. It isn't pretty.

Re: Nitto NT450 Extreme Performance?

How much air did you guys run in your tires when you used the NT450's? I usually run around 30 cold tire pressure, but them tires are hard as heck. Thinking about dropping it back to 25. Any opinions?

Unless you want to wear the outer edges of your radials.

I run 35-32 front 32-30 rear.
