new to me wheels, front end shake
new to me wheels, front end shake
ok so I bought a set of crager soft 8's for my camaro and I put these old, almost bald tires I had just until i got new ones. Anyway i road forced them using the tire balancer at school, came out fine. So i put them on and the fronts rub the calipers. So I go and get a set of spacers put them on and they roll but there is a really bad front end vibration in the steering wheel. is this from the spacers? or the tires? I'm going to try new tires and see if that helps because it's badd. what do you guys think? I'm just running the front stockers for now. i contacted the guy i bought the wheels from and he said i can grind a little off the caliper and because they're floating, grind a little off the outside pad and try that. the spacers are 7/16" thick. which is way to thick for the front. it looks bad sticking out that far. any opinions?
most people have to gring the calipars when putting draglites on, its part of the game.
as far as the vibration, it might be the tires but my first guess would be balancing but you said you balanced them so idk

What size wheels did you get - diameter, width and backspace? Were the wheels used or new? Did you check them for runout? The thickness of the spacer should not cause vibration, unless the spacer is damaged or not cut with both faces parallel. How much thread engagement do you have on the lugs?
