Lowering question

I did some searching on this and could not find the info I like. I am looking at getting either some Z06 rims or the ZR1 rims. If I get them in the 17 inch size will I have ot lower my car to make it look right? It seems the ideal size for these is 56mm and 17X9.5 with 275/40/17 from alot of the posts.

This will just be for daily driving I plan on mounting some DR's to my old rims.
Any hlep would rock.

Re: Lowering question

Lowering is always a good idea I have the factory SS/ZR1 17in wheels and I did the eibach pro-kit. Dropped about 1.3-1.5 all around. Before it probably had the same wheelwell gaps as a factory 16in wheel. I think a 17in wheel with a 40 aspect ratio is the same hight as a 16in with a 50 AR but not 100% sure.

Re: Lowering question

I went from a 250/50/16 to a 275/40/17 and the tires were very very close to the same height.. I did not have to recalibrate the speedo.
