kumho ecsta ASX or MX

Hey I drive about 9k miles a year and I have 17x11's on all 4 corners goign on and wanted to try some 285/40/17's since I cant find any decent 315's for a decent price. Now the ASX seems to have a long tread life but not sure how much traction... Now the MX has astounding traction but not sure what kind of treadlife. Just wondering if anyone has tried them out and what they thought....

if you drive 9k miles a year, i dont see why treadlife would be a concern...

I had the MX's for a while and LOVED them! I got 19k out of them...When i took them off, they looked like drag slicks, but then again, i did smokey burnouts everyother day it seemed

yes i had 245's all the way around, and rotated them quite a bit. Im going back to them after these nittos are trashed but am going to run 245's up front and 295's out back. I thought they were awesome tires for the money! I imagine if you drive decently they would last a good time. By the way, how do your 17x11's fit up front?

Re: kumho ecsta ASX or MX

are going to go with 295 35 18's? I have not put them on yet but a little grinding on the spindle, which is now an ls1 spindle, and some splash gaurd trimming and a 1/4" spacer and it should go on fine... You can search the auto x and road racing forum and there are plenty of pics of 315's all around

yeah thats the size im going to run out back, i want to go bigger, but i dont know how safe it would be on a 9 inch wide wheel. 315's would look huge up front!

I got 285/40/18 Kumho Ecsta ASX on my Camaro and they are great. This is how I rate them, 1 to 10 10 being best

Dry traction - 9

Wet Traction - 8

Smokeing- 7

Cornering - 8

Treadware - driven 3000 miles on them so far, about 10-15 burnouts, and can still see the treadlife marking on all levels of tread

I really do love these tires, and when they go bald I WILL be purchasing them again, Very good price too.

Thanks for the ratings... what size tires do you have and what other tires have you previously had so I know what you are comparing them to to come up with those numbers
