KDWS in front KDW-KD in back?
KDWS in front KDW-KD in back?
Would this be a good match? Are the KDWS a good front tire? What would it be like to have KD-KDW in the back with the KDWS in front? I can't find out any information based on my questions.
Re: KDWS in front KDW-KD in back?
Right now I have BFG KDW's on the front and Goodyear GS-C's on the back. The Goodyears are a little old, but I purchased a few before they disappeared. Anyhow.
I was always told to not mix and match tires. Each tire handles a little different and will break loose at a different point. So I was told that if you plan on driving the car hard you might be asking for trouble? As for me, I have driven my car hard and no problems yet. The Goodyears are running thin and soon I shall have matching tires again. I could be totally wrong, but it sounded reasonable to me.

Well if you read, I already have them in the back. I have heard good things about them. I tried getting the KD's and the KDW's for the back but it would have taken over 2 weeks to get them and I needed new tires taht day. I'm gonna keep the KDWS on the car since I already have them, and just put them in the front if I get KD.
Re: KDWS in front KDW-KD in back?
I just noticed that my front passenger side stock Goodyear tire is dry rotting severely. I have a Yokohama AS430 or something on the drivers side. Should I replace both the Yokohama and Goodyear with the KD or KDW and put the KDWS in front? I need to know if putting the KDWS is ok. I also need to know if I put a KD or KDW in the back is ok. I also thought about putting some Nittos in the back, and putting the KDWS in the front. I need to know info on this asap! What is the biggest size I can put on the back of my car? I thought about getting either 255/?/16 or 275/?/16. I really need to know this info!
Nevermind, I found out that 255 is the biggest size on my wheel.
I have an idea: Nitto 555R's in the back: 245/50/16 and the KDWS in the front.

Re: KDWS in front KDW-KD in back?
I have 245/50/16 KDWS all around. I like them okay, considering that they have decent snow traction. Turn-in response and slip angle are good. Accelerating and braking traction are okay, but leave something to be desired. The W speed rating (168mph) is nice. Tire noise is minimal.
If you don't live in an area with snow, or don't drive your car in the winter, don't bother with the KDWS. (The S stands for Snow). If you don't get a lot of rain, or don't drive your car in the rain, don't bother with the KDW either. D is Dry, W is Wet, S is Snow. The KD has awesome dry traction. The KDW and KDWS sacrifice some dry traction for wet and snow capabilities, too.
I'll probably try something different when these wear out, but I don't know what yet.
