How much horsepower before 245's become useless at the track?

I second that. To me there useless on the street as soon as you learn how to drive the car and by that I mean once you make it around one block.

stock 245s + stock LS1 A4 + 2.73s still = useless. I can spin those things at 40mph on dry pavement still. 
sure is fun tho, but i'd run bias-ply times at a track.
