got my TT2s wheels w/pic
the rear wheel does look smallerthan the front. and the angle is not really that severe. i would say the front tire is a foot closer than the rear. uh.. you sure the 18" is on the rear lol.. just checkijng. other than that the sidewalls on the rear tire look pretty small.. I would put some larger tires ont he back just to fill up some of that empty space in the wheel well.
Well i do have 2 dif size tires on it. I might get some new low profiles for the front, but it sucks cause they are brand new wheels on it already, with less than 25 miles i think...I not sure exactly car is at home, im in iraq. But my family only drives it once a week or so just so it doesnt sit still. I would need to find someone to buy the wheels i would replace. Heres what i have, nitto 555s all around, 285/35-18 in the rear and 245/45-17 in the front. I did not think about it when i ordered them that they would be dif. heights. I was more worried about my speedometer not getting thrown off. If i just changed the fronts would that affect my speedometer? If i can find some way to work around it so tires look the same i will, and will have to sell the 2 tires i replace.
this is just a question, but on 4th gens can't you go into the ECM and change a few things to get your speedo to read correctly? say if you changes gears or what not?? I figured there should be something along the lines in case you changed tire sizes. (I have an aftermarket digital setup in one of my thirdgens due to tire size differences.. apparently the stock tire size for a thirdgen is getting harder to come by so the speedo is off on a normal car. Mine i just calibrate it . run it a mile. and it is done.)
ok, i guess im gonna have to replace on or the other, would it be better to get taller tires in the rear, or shorter tires in the front? Oh and does anyone want to buy a set of very low miles nitto 555s ( 25-50 miles), when i get some replacements?
You should try to stay as close to stock tire diameter as possible(52.85 cm for a 245/50/16 w/ a 16" wheel). With a 285/35/18 Tire, you will be 2 cm larger than stock(Shouldn't be a problem). I would recommend getting a 245/40/17 tires for the front. A 245/40/17will have an outside diameter of 52.9 cm compared to the stock tire outside diameter of 52.85. This is a near perfect match for the 17x8 wheel you have and will also match the look you were trying to achieve with the bigger wheels on back. Plus, since you already have 245/45/17 rear tires, you can easily sell them( Many cars came with that size tires, such as GTO's.)

Stock tire diameter (245/50-16) is 25.65" = 65.14cm
His 285/35-18's are 25.85" = 65.67cm
His 245/45-17 are 25.68" = 65.23cm
Going to 245/40-17 would put them at 24.72" = 62.78cm
Your mistake is you only added the height of one sidewall to the wheel diameter. You have to add two sidewalls to the wheel diameter to get the tire outside diameter.
