Goodyear F1 GS-D3s worth the money? (or BFG KDWs?)
Goodyear F1 GS-D3s worth the money? (or BFG KDWs?)
I am in need of new tires. I already have a set of drag radials (which will probably be sold so I can buy full slicks). Anyway, I need a set of good hooking rear tires that will hold up to my 4.10s in my 12 second car. I also am looking for something that is safe to drive in the rain. I won't be taking these tires to the strip, but I want them to hold up to my "spirited" driving.
I am really leaning toward the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s, but the price is steep. I don't mind paying that if they are worth it though. I know you get what you pay for, generally speaking.
Or, is the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW a better tire for the money?
Anyone who has had both, or at least had the F1s and completely love them? I have already done a lot of searching the forum, but I didn't feel the "bang for the buck" question was sufficiently answered.

You should check out the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. I have no problem hooking now and I used to spin third with my Kumho Ecsta MX's. In the rain, I feel more in control than when I drive my front drive Cadillac STS. All around great tire.
Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3s worth the money? (or BFG KDWs?)
The michelins are good tires, but EVEN more expensive than the Eagles, and alot more than the KDW's. The KDW's are good tires, but from what ive heard, it definetley seems that the GS-D3's are even better than the KDW's. However, this is from no experience with GS-D3's and with just front tire experience with KDW's.
Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3s worth the money? (or BFG KDWs?)
I really didnt like the idea of spending 400$ a tire either. Then, I thought of it like this... I will have these tires for hopefully 20k miles, or about four years for me. To me, its worth spending another 250$ or so so that every time I ran it through the gears wot over the next four years I dont regret cheaping out.
Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3s worth the money? (or BFG KDWs?)
I guess that works. But to me, 200 a tire is not cheaping out at all! 100 a tire would be cheaping out. But whatever, you got yourself the best tire in its category.
