camaro to monte carlo rim swap

I just bought a 2000 monte carlo ss it has 16x6.5 rims (stock) on it now, i would like get a set of rims like my 1987 iroc has on it to put on my monte, these are 16x8 i was wondering if anyone else had done this to know if the tire fit inside the wheel well, or more importantly didnt rub against anything, i would just swap the rims and see, but this test alone wouldnt tell the tale, because the tire that is on the camaro needs to be taller in order for the speedometer to work properly.
thank you.

Re: camaro to monte carlo rim swap

are you sure, they are both 5 bolt 16" rims...and seem to have the same radius relative to the rim, guess i will try them on and see for myself, so what does have the same bolt pattern as my camaro....and what has the same as a 2000 monte...
