I've done a bunch of searching and wanted to make sure my calculations are correct. If I were to go with a 17 X 9 wheel with a 45MM offset, that would put my wheel approximately 7/8" closer to my fender than the stock 16 X 8 wheel--yes no?

ur BS will be 5.3" rounded...so your "FS" or Front Space as we'll call it will be 3.7" not sure what stockers are though, someone will finish it off for me though...all u do is take the middle of the wheel (4.5") and add the offset (mm converted to inches) to get the BS..At least that how I always did it, but maybe im wrong

Please don't take this too harshly--not only did you not answer my question, but the information you supplied is incorrect as well.

Your answer should have been something like, "Well Kevin, I'm glad you asked that question. In order to figure out your backspacing you will need to take the wheel width, in this case 9 inches and add approximately a 1/2" to each side of the wheel to account for the wheel lip on both sides. (This is an approximation as different manufacturers will have different sizes.) Then you would divide that number by 2, in order to find the center line of the wheel--which would be 5. Next you would take the offset, which is 45MM and convert it into inches. Do this by dividing 45MM by 25.4--this equals approximately 1.77". Finally, you add the 5" to the 1.77" which equals 6.77" and gives you your approximate backspacing."

Then I would have said, "Thank you very much for your thorough answer."

It will actually be .9055 inches, but 7/8ths is close enough.

Oops i forgot to add my calc for the .5 lip thing, I posted to quickly. Just tried to help, I assumed you would know the size and offset for the stock wheel, and apply the same theory..and compare "front space" then you could figure out how much closer it would sit to the fender, but it sounds like you knew all of that now. I still dont know the stock offset so I still cant confirm your answer to your post. Not taken harshly, it was my mistake
