C5 Wagon wheels
C5 Wagon wheels
A buddy of mine has some corvette wagon wheels he'll sell me for $250. Will they fit directly on my formula w/out needing any modifications? And is this a good deal?..I know there's better wheels out there but i figured they'd look better than my stock 16's. Thanks for any input.
Re: C5 Wagon wheels
They're 17's in the front and 18 in the rear, i think. Its however they came from the factory on a 98 corvette. I bet the rear tires will be pretty expensive.
Anyone have a pic of these on a firebird?

i have 98 wagon wheels on my 99 z
you will have the bfh mod on the inner fender in the rear not to bad though i used a 5/16 spacer to help to. imo these are the best lookin vette rims they made. they are staggered which gives a awesome look and the 17 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 rims give it a great look too. tires werent that bad from discount tire direct w/ free shipping i had less then 325 in the rears( falkens ) and new fuzions fzi up front cost about 225 and close to 80 in mount n balance here locally. if it wasnt night id go snap ya a pic on my car. its pewter w/ siver racing stripes and silver wagon wheels looks killer just needs to be lowered a bit now. btw i removed the vette emblum from the center cap so the whole piece is black looks great in my predjudice opinion

The reason I ask is I want to do this too, but lowered with Eibaach Prokit, which my buddy has on his (but 17's and 18's with a spacer on rear) and he doesnt have any problems, so he says...sorry for the hijak, but when the opportunity presents itself...
Re: C5 Wagon wheels
the lower part of the inside lip will needed to be hammered back a lil bit pretty much from the rear (about 1 oclock) all the way down the front ( @ 6 oclock ) going counterclockwise. then once you have done that the inside of the tire well ( at about 9 oclock ) the fender well right there will need to be messaged back as well ( along the front width of the tire ). other people have told me they had bump stop issues, i didnt but i did take the grinder too it and smooth it down a bit just incase b/c those edges looked sharp. my rear tire is a 275/40/18 and after about 3 hrs of test fitting and grinding hammering it was perfect, the 3 hours includeds test riding jacking it up taking off the wheels ect and im very very meticulous about my car i wanted it to serve its purpose but not be noticeable from a quick glance over. i also took sound eliminating undercoating ( black ) and sprayed the intire inner fenderwell, this served 2 purposes
1: cleaned it up alot period and now wont ever rust ect
2: if i had another rub issue id know exactly where to work
( forgive my simplistic 1 oclock 3 oclock references but w/out having a pic its a lil hard to convert what im trying to say. )
