Bolt Pattern Question

I just purchased a new set of wheels on ebay for my car. The bolt pattern for the wheels 5x120. If the Camaro is 5x120.65 am I going to have a problem? Has anyone elese gotten away with this setup. Id hate to have to sell these things after I buy them...

Re: Bolt Pattern Question

They'll fit but you'll want to check the lug nuts like every week from what I have read. I guess they will work them selves loose and you might want to buy a some center hub rings.

Re: Bolt Pattern Question

They will NOT fit correctly. I understand that the difference looks small, but it is still wrong.

Call up a local machine shop and ask how big .03 really is.

.03 is about the thickness of a credit card.

I called a local wheel shop and this is what I got...

"Yeah they will bolt up no problem, that .65 doesnt really mean anything..."

Ive asked a bunch of people and Im getting mixed results. Id really like to hear from someone who actually tried it first hand, but I guess Ill have to be the guinea pig. Ill let you guys know if my wheels fall off

Funny you mentioned that, someone on ls1tech.com had that happen to him awhile back, trying to do what your are. His thread was stickied up for awhile.

Re: Bolt Pattern Question

My friend Mark has been running a set of 20's the entire summer with the same bolt pattern. No crazy stuff like the wheel falling off has happened yet, but we clean and check them quite regulary.

Re: Bolt Pattern Question

When you check the lugs do they seem to be backing off? Do you guys check them with a torque wrench?

Re: Bolt Pattern Question

After some more research I found that the popular HP EVO wheels use the same 5x120 pattern. Ive asked a few people that have these wheels and they said that they had no problems at all. Now I just need $600 for tires!

Re: Bolt Pattern Question

Nope, no problems with the lugs backing off. And we didn't use a torque wrench or anything, just a rachet with a extension on the bar and tightened as much as possible.
