well spring is coming so its time to get some new tread for the car. right now im running 18-275-40 on all four Y2k's. in the back i have nitto 555's and khumo ecsta's in the front.

im not happy with traction of the nittos, and would like to get a bit wider tire.

whats the biggest i can fit on the rim 295? and what tire you reccomend for traction that size.

 

i personally wouldnt go wider, because i dont like sidewall bulge

but if you want 295's, you have 2 options. 295/30's or 35 series...30 series has about 4 or 5 tire choices....and they arent cheap, same goes for the 35 series, but they have more choices..like bfg's

 

I have 295/35/18 Goodyear F1 (ZO6) tires on my 18x9.5 Y2k C5's in the back, I think look and fit great. They don't bulge too much, they stick out about 1/2" more on each side of the rim than the 275/40/18's did. I wouldnt feel safe going any bigger than a 295 on a 9.5 rim.

I think thatll look too small, Zack. You need a 35 series.

 

its gonna be over half an inch shorter overall than my 275/35's, but then again the 35 series is gonna be half an inch taller. i just dont how much sidewall there is with the 35 series. i could prolly get used to it though, and besides, got a lot more choices for tires in the 35 series than avs sports, pilot sports and some porsche rated pirellis
