BFG drag radials right before 50 mile trip

Duh! 500 mile trip, not 50!
Any harm in mounting a pair of BFG drags a week before a 500 mile trip? I'm just concerned if there is any kind of heat cycling, etc that needs to occur on a special tire like this before I take off.

Finally getting a pair of tires that will handle my stall converter. The summitomo's spin off the line even with casual driving. Wears them out pretty quick.

The tires will be bald after 500 miles, they aren't made to ride around on

WTF are you talking about? Do you know what the tread wear rating is on that tire?

I have used that tire on various cars since it first came out......they are not made for real street use or high milage trips. Also the heat rating on them will tell you, its not made for 500 mile road trips Its a drag tire....

hate to say it but a 500 mile road trip will almost make the damn things bald.haha. my buddy went through a set in a summer of just normal cruising with the car as a toy on the side from his DD. so ya, they hook great, but you'll go through them like socks.

Dammit! not what I wanted to hear. I need tires before this trip. I refuse to buy another pair of sumitomos, they totally suck!

+1 for Nitto 555r.

They're $150.00 a tire (275/40/17) on discounttire.com. They aren't the best when it's wet out, but you'll definetly be able to hook on the street when dry.
