Was wondering what everyone's opinions where on the best tires for under 100 dollars. Looking for traction and performance?

 

What size?

 

Ditto, size makes a huge difference. If you have 18inch wheels and want something for under $100 you are in big trouble.

 

I really love my Hankooks and they were cheap i woudl buy them again in an instant

 

On stock 16 inch rims would like to get 255 but don't know if they will work so 245 will probably be it.

The Yokohamas for $93 are really good.Kumhos are also good.

 

Umm, tires for under $100. I think you're going to have to run 185/80/13s to stick with that price.

 

Not all Kumho's are good. My 712's SUCK!!! Wet traction is alright but for dry traction I spun them at will on the rear and my front end pushes in decent turns with the tires up front. Even going slow doing a U turn they'll slide.

If you're looking for good traction and performance you need to step up your price a bit IMO. The Yokos are $103 @ discount.

You'd be better off performance wise going cheaper on a catback or other performance parts than you would tires and yet people will skimp on the only things that contact the pavement. I'm not saying you have to buy the most expensive, but the 712's have made me leary of ever going with budget priced tires again.

 

One of the tires in that price range that I'm really impressed with is the BFG G-Force Sport. They won't show on the site because we don't have them in stock but they are available from BFG.

 

I'm gonna have to vote for Yokohama's. I love my Avid's. I feel like a broken record because I've commented on them several times, but they just have great dry and wet weather traction. Better than anything I've ever driven on.

ok whats better? Falken Ziex ZE-512 W rated, Nitto NT 450 Extreme Performance V rated or Yokohama AVS ES100 w rated?

 

Yokohama AVS ES100's.. Best bang for the buck tire. From tirerack $99.. I got mine from NTB pricematched at $108 per tire.
W rated is way better.. I would rather run a tire that can withstand 168+mph anyday.

Stick with the 245's you wont see enough gain in going to 255 to ever make it worthwhile.

The key is to realize that you need to setup your car to utilize the most out of your tire. So many people just keep adding power and then think, wow! I need traction.. NO.. Traction is needed FIRST.. then add power till you need more traction, then adjust till you have traction again. then add power as you wish alternating btw the two.

So.. For this I would suggest getting some LCA, a panhard rod, an airbag in your right rear spring..things like that to help get the most out of whats already there. and of course, tires.. good sticky tires.. I am on my second set of Yokohamas and for the price are far and above any of the tires I have tried out.. Sure there are better tires at 2 times the cost. .but I would rather pay less, wear out sooner and run a newer tire more often.
