Autocross Tire Questions

Currently I have two different pairs of tires on my car, Continental ContiExtremeContacts up front and Kumho Ecsta 700s (I think they're 700s) in back (245/45/17 all around). The Kumhos are nearly brand new, but the Continetals are the last two of out of the set of four I bought a few years ago and are pretty worn out, especially after a couple of autocross events. I want to get a new pair of tires to replace the Contis, but I'm planning on running at another autocross event this weekend, and I don't know if I want to rip up a brand new set of tires.

So, how much oversteer would I gain by rotating the Contis to the back? Towards the end of the last autocross meet, the car was understeering pretty badly due to the worn tires (the car got about 18 runs in between two drivers). Would it be an unmanageable amount of oversteer, or could it help offset some of the stock suspension's inherent understeer?

Also, what are some street tires that perform decently well in autocross? I'm currently at work, so I don't have enough time to read all of the tire review threads. Keep in mind that I'm a poor college kid who can't afford anything super expensive, or anything that wears too quickly.

Nitto 555 Street tires suck for auto-x. ask me how I know. never mind, I'll just tell you.
Have you ever driven in the rain with bald tires? that is how the 555's feel on the auto-x course.
Now, the Nitto 555RII are decent auto-x tires that can be driven on the street.
I got about 15K miles and 8 auto-x events out of my set (probably has 1 or 2 more events in them but are too bald for street use).

I now run the Kumhos V710's in the 265/45/16 size and they are awesome, you just don't want to drive with them on the street as they won't last too long and will probably pick up sharp objects too easily.

running with the V710's.

Hmm, the 555RIIs sound pretty good, if I could get 8 autocrosses plus some street mileage out of them I would be happy. Only thing is I don't think I can fit a 275 tire on an 8-inch wide wheel...

What about the Fuzion ZRi's? Has anyone driven those?

Falken RT-615. Not as soft as the r555R2, but IMO they are doing as well as the BFG KD I had on previously.
