Anyone have these tires?
Anyone have these tires?
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=0
I got a flat yesterday but I don't see a hole anywhere. On another tire I swear it looks like the tread is ever so slightly starting to seperate from the sidewall. This sucks since they should have another 20,000 miles left on them. I am going to see what discount tire says about them. If I need new tires I am going to pick up a pair of these. Anyone have them?
I'll be getting 285/55/20.

KDW's are a good tire. You can save some money and get a tire that is just as good or better in every measurable category by going with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
If you want to spend even more money, the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 is even better (it's pretty much the best street tire out there).
I have GS-D3's right now. I love them, and they were totally worth the money. Next time, however, I'm either going to try the Michelins or a set of Nitto 555Rs (which are not technically a street tire). Hey, maybe I'll do Nittos in back and PS2s in front.

YUP
275/35/18s out back & 245/40/18s in the front
Couldn't be happier
Not sure how they compare to GS D-3s as I've never driven on GS D-3s. But the KWD2s are excellent in the Dry and I've had them in the rain twice with no issues

The GS-D3's really show their stuff in the rain. If you never drive in the rain, you'll never see the real advantage to the GS-D3 compared to the KDW. Not that the KDW is bad in the rain -- the GS-D3 is just a lot better. In the dry, they perform about the same.
Again, the KDW's are more expensive than the GS-D3s, so unless you like the tread pattern better, rarely/never drive on wet roads, and are willing to pay the price, I don't see any reason to use them.

you guys do realize he needs truck tires don't you?
i'm currently running the General Grabber UHP tires and am 100% happy with them. they don't wear very well though (i'm expecitng maybe 25,000 out of this set).

I can do 90 in a blazing rain storm on the HW and you can see my tire tracks for about a mile back!
VERY solid in the rain!FWIW: My buddy runs 555's in the rain w/ no problem..
No, didn't notice that. If they make the GS-D3 in an appropriate size, I still say go for it.
I read a tire comparison article -- I think it was in Car & Driver. The 70-0 braking distance in the wet was the same as in the dry, to the foot. My personal experience tends to back up those numbers. GS-D3's simply don't slip in the wet any more than they do in the dry. They also channel water away like it's nothing. They will not hydroplane.

#1: Didn't realize he was looking at Truck Tires, and not sure if these would be a good idea on a truck....
#2: They don't have the GS-D3 in the size he's looking for here...
#3: Tirerack lists the GS-D3 as more $$ than the KDW2s for the most part... They don't even have a 275 Width correct size for an F-body in the rear, and the front's are almost $50 more per tire. So I'm thinking that while the GS-D3 are a GOOD Tire, the KWD2s perform equally as well for a lower price
So if this is the type of tire required for the truck then go for it..
