anyone get rear fenders flared???

I have a lowered car (eibach pro kit, 1.5" drop) and running 17x11's in the rear with 315 tires. I had to take out the bumpstops for it to fit properly.

My problem is, on large bumps the tire will travel up and actually get cut on the fenderlip(if you look in the rear well you'll see the lip of the fender which can cut the tire).

I rolled the lip a little with a baseball bat, it helps but to get it 100% right, i took it to a body shop and asked them what they can do.

They want to cut the rear fender, and weld in a piece of metal to flare it out, kinda like how the front fender has a mini flare. A custom job, he does work on show cars and minitubs so I assume he knows what he's doing. He wants to pull my entire car down until the wheels hit the wheel wells, and flare it out enough so they completly tuck in.

Does anyone have a pic of this done?? I want to see what it looks like before I give the shop the OK to proceed.

1.5" drop sounds like sportlines.

So the flair would look like these?:

I think it would be cheaper to get better springs and to check and make sure your backspacing is not off.

nah they it is the pro kit, 1" drop then, I forgot what drop it is, pro kit for sure though.

Backspacing is all correct, it looks right on.

I don't know if he'll do it that dramatic like the pics you showed me, i'll print htem out and show the guy and see if it will look like that.

Thanks,

Brian

A set of air lift bags would cure the whole problem.
