Any opinions on BFG G-Force Sports?
Any opinions on BFG G-Force Sports?
My Falken 451s on the Corvette need to be replaced thanks to some awful treadwear on 1 of the 4 tires.
I planned on giving the Nitto 555s a try, but now I'm thinking about the BFG G-Force Sports, since the set will come up over $100 cheaper than the Nittos. The car is a daily driver in the summer. I'm really trying to strike a balance between affordability, performance and longevity.
When I bought the car it had General XP2000s on it. Grip in dry conditions was terrible, and in wet conditions was life-threatening, but dispite their 200 treadwear rating, I did manage to squeak 22k miles out of them, and they probably would have still passed inspection when I pulled them off. I had very even treadwear on all 4 tires.
The falkens provided remarkable wet and dry grip. I'd say their wet grip was nearly as good as the dry grip of the Generals. Unfortunately, I'm at 10k miles, and the right rear tire is totally smoked (no, I don't do burnouts or any of that sort of thing... I've never even squealed these tires). I have not gotten even treadwear on any of these 4 tires. On 3 of them, one or both edges are worn while the center still looks virtually new. On the right rear, the center is smoked and the edges look new. All are inflated to approximately 30lbs. I really wanted to see treadwear that was equal to or better than the Generals, but I got less than half the milage.
After I get new tires I'm going to get a 4 wheel alignment, but considering that the car drives and tracks just as perfectly as it always did, I really doubt that my alignment is drastically off.
So anyway, does anybody have any feedback on the G-Force Sports?

Re: Any opinions on BFG G-Force Sports?
Just got me a set of BFG g-Force Sport tires & after 200+ miles on them I am very impressed. Too soon to tell though. I will update this post afer about 2K miles. So, far they handle great. They hook up great on wet roads...no spinning! I replaced the stock OE Goodyear Eagles RS-A. They had 38K on them & were way too loud! Much more quiet & comfortable ride now.
Re: Any opinions on BFG G-Force Sports?
I love mine. I have under 500 miles on them, but allready they are very impressive. Only dry weather so far, but straight line and cornering has been much better than either Kumho 711's or 712's, and seems a little better than BFG KDW's. I will definitely buy another set for the wifes car soon
Great price from Discount Tire Direct too. Call them for the "Good Guy" price.

Re: Any opinions on BFG G-Force Sports?
I have BFG KDWS - They've been great for me... I cant spin them from a 10mph roll in my 300hp LT1 and it barley kicks a tad on the 1-2 shift if I hold it down all the way thru the floor.
Great tires, only lost it a tad once in the rain and easily corrected it. That was my fault however. Did okay in the snow except I couldn't make it up the hill in my neighborhood. But at that time they were bald. (has been replaced with the same)
I've put about 3-4k on them in the past 8mos I owned the car. (I bought the car with them and the rears were bald and replaced the rears 6mos ago)

The KDWS is NOT the G-force Sport....
On the KDWS, I could spin their 225-50-16 on my wife's stock 3400 Grand Am. So off the line traction wasn't THAT impressive. They did handle well on the GA though.

Just an update for those who care. I'm not sure on the milage, but it's at least a couple thousand, and so far I have no signs of tire wear. Grip is as good as the Falkens (in other words, excellent) in all conditions. These tires also look better than the falkens. I'm now considering another set for my GTA.
BFG G Force Sports
I also have new G Force sports on my 96. Got them mounted on ASA JS5 wheels from Tire Rack. I was able to pick them up for $109 per tire on sale. It was worth getting yelled at by the wiff. I've put 500 or so miles on these tires and I like them a lot. I've only drove in heavy rain once (freak storm driving home from work) but the car was planted and no signs of hydroplaning. Dry traction is great too and no sign of wear so far. They are great tires imho.
The BFG G-Force Sports that I've had for about a year have been fantastic street tires. Discount Tire has them on their web site for $159. Only caveat is that they are a 3 season tire at best here in Ohio. HTH
I like my G force sports, but at 25k they are worn out. They wore great for 15k miles with hardly any wear, but the last 9 k or so they have worn fast. I always check air pressure, and the wear is even, so no alignment problems. I do however have Z06 rims, so I have 17's on the front and 18's in the rear. I would like to have had gotten 30k out of them though. But traction handling and noise have been great all along. So looking to see if there are any new tires out there.
