285's on 11" wide rim
How will this look, will it be too stretched? I was gonna get 4 315's sumitomo HTRZ but at 156 a piece plus shipping and a 160 treadwear rating I cant afford that this time around so I was looking at 119 a piece kumho 712's in the 285 40 17 size but they are only one half inch wider than the rim....again will that look stupid? I did the 4 17x11 ZR1's for looks and performance so if the 285 doenst look right Ill just have to wait even longer to put them on, already had em 8 months atleast...

Re: 285's on 11" wide rim
are you going to try to put those 11 inch on the front?? if you are im not sure if there going to fit actually i can tell you that they wont without some mods to the suspension the 9.5 inch is cutting it close on my 95 camaro but i was just asking you made it seem like you were.. anyway the 285's will look good i had them on before i switched to my 315's, you can get 315 drag radials from a local discount tire for 136 each i have Sumitomo HTRZ 315's on the rear of mine and 245's in the front there sweet tires really stick when heated.. but heres a pic of my car with the 285's on before i switched to the 315's hope this helps....

Re: 285's on 11" wide rim
thank you for the pics man! Also yes 11 inch wide rims with 315's do fit up front, a lot of the road racers do that for obvious reasons and use a spacer and a lil notching on the spindle and thats about it, do a search there are tons of pics and info on how to do it, looks pretty sick
Also your link didnt work

Re: 285's on 11" wide rim
You can do it no problem. I've been running that setup for the last yr on 11" wheels all 4 corners. You just need the correct offset to alleviate any rubbing or spacers one or the other. You'll have a slightly higher ride height because of the diamter of the tire but nothing anyone but you will notice. I'm 26" from fender well to the ground so it's low w/ no rubbing issues at all w/ daily driving or road coures. Can view a few pics here.
