255 slicks better than 315 drag radials?

255 slicks better than 315 drag radials?
instead of buying an extra set of zr1 17x11 and 315 drag radials.. would getting
Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial, 255/50R16, 26" tall
and mount on stock wheel(have an extra set laying around) be better? it wil be cheaper, but would the skinnier slicks grip ebtter tha 315 DRs?
