18x10.5 zo6 wheels

Will 18x10.5 zo6 wheels 56mm work on the rear w/out mods? Do i need spacers or anything like that..? What size tires would be recommended, 295/35/18 or 305/35/18?
Im also planning to lower the car later on with eibach pro-kit or BMR 1" drop

I'd look for 18x9.5 wheels

I'd go with 18x9.5's ZO6's & P275/35/18's all four corners. Less weight and in my opinion just a better all around look / set up for our cars.

The 10.5's do require spacers and beating the fender some but with 295's. You should be fine it's not too hard to fit them...Just don't try to get 335's under there, I'm still working out some small rubs with that. I don't have a spacer yet though.

BTW a guy on ls1tech.com just got his setup not too long ago with 295's in the back, he has some pics on there too.

Oh and the 10.5's give a deep dish look too the spokes stick out in the middle a little more on the 18x9.5's than the 10.5's.

Re: 18x10.5 zo6 wheels

REAL Corvette Z06 wheels with the Corvette offset in size 18 x 10.5 WILL NOT FIT on the rear an f-car WITHOUT the use of spacers (not recommended) and/or hammering the inner fenderwell where they rub and/or rolling the fender lip.

Aftermarket replica Corvette wheels made in the SAME offset will naturally rub as well.

Aftermarket replica Corvette wheels made in the F-BODY offset will naturally do fine.

As stated before, make sure you do your homework on your tire size.

Why do you say spacers are not recommended?

It is a matter of opinion. Some say that they are unsafe, others say there is no problem running them. There is no true answer that I have ever found, but it seems that more people in the wheel and racing industry shy away from using them.

I myself wouldn't feel comfortable using wheel spacers, even high-quality billet ones. Even if the odds of failure are slim, it is not worth it to me.

I had a set of real Z06 wheels a couple of years ago and didn't keep them because I didn't want to use the hammer on my car and didn't want to run spacers.

Ah, great information JasonD from someone who had them. I am looking at doing the OEM Satin Z06 wheels and found this thread. So to fit the rears with 295's I just need my BFH. How much "expert modification" are we talking about? I havent been in my wheel well before...

Also JasonD what tires did you run and did you ever have them on your Z? I have heard some not to popular things about having 17" fronts and 18" rears...you opinion having had them?

Do a search on my name and the work Z06, but in the Appearance forum...I think one of the experts sent some picks of where to start bashing.

They were factory Z06 wheels with the "stock" Eagle F1 Supercar tires on them.

That's what it comes down to...opinion, and since it is your car, that is what matters most. I didn't mind the idea, I had 17s on my car to begin with so it was only getting better in the rear.

Re: 18x10.5 zo6 wheels

I have the oe conceps wheels on my car. Z06 18x9.5 and 18x10.5. Rears needed VERY LITTLE hammering. Main issue was the control arms (rear). Tubed arms would be the solution to that. As for tires, 275/35 18 and 305/35s for the rear (thats why i had to hammer). And the drop, trimmed eibach sportlines on the rear and qa1 on the front with no gap. Pics in the sig.

pretty much hit it right on the money why we wont install any wheel on a vehicle at work that has spacers

Thanks fella's

Jason, my only concern with mismatched is rotation, did you have any even wear that would leave you to desire the same size on all 4? Also how was the traction with the F1's? How about compared to other tires you have had?

Thanks again.

D'oh...sorry. I only installed them, set the car down on my garage floor, realized that they didn't fit and removed them. I never drove on them. I know that you asked previously, but I missed that. Sorry.

There's plently of people who have them. I hear the F1 Supercar tires are light years better then the regular F1 tires. I have never heard about any tire wear issues, but maybe that's just because people haven't posted them. I don't think it would be a huge deal considering the number of Z06s out there.
