WTB: Stock USEABLE LT1 shortblock around Dallas
Re: WTB: Stock USEABLE LT1 shortblock around Dallas
Not sure what the going rate is for a rebuildable short block.
I got $900 for my '98 LS1 shortblock that needed a rebuild ... how about $450?
I even have a set of stock rods and pistons I would throw in. Because it has a spun rod bearing, It would need at least 2 rods replaced as they typically elongate the rod cap.
The reason I didn't rebuild it myself was last spring I was in a time crunch. I found a junk yard pull out to make the season opener and it has lasted all season.

did it get the crank at all? I am not worried about the rods. I have plenty of those. I just don't want to go through with getting the block and crank prepped.

It definitely needs a close inspection. The crank, as I recall, had no gouges. But I just lifted the first rod caps and saw the bearings spinning around the journal.
When started, the motor definitely made a bad noise from down low, but held good oil pressure and ran on all cylinders.

I have currently purchased one. Thank you though.
I am always in need of some stock parts. Except lifters. I have 62 of them now. I don't need those. Anyone have any stock aluminum cylinder heads maybe? Or complete intake manifolds?
