Why don't you just buy a pair from a company like speedautomotive.com? I'm pretty sure they clean up the heads before they sell them. Plus, they are off of wrecked F-Bodies, so they usually only have like 40 or 50,000 miles at most on them. I have run into an EXCEPTIONALLY GREAT deal on a pair of heads. I found them on the internet. I too was untrustworthy of the internet at first, but I've NEVER been screwed when ordering something off of the net, and I've bought from individuals AND businesses on-line. The more that I order on the net, the mroe I am impressed by the substantially lower prices and service. Give it a try, but make sure you can at least see pictures of the heads from all sides.

I have never had a bad deal, but right now I want to look at them and pull the trigger on the spot. I don't really want to mess with pics and emails. I would like to meet someone and give them cash. If I don't have any luck I might have to do something like that.

Yeah, your best bet is to try speed automotive.com They have a really good rep for good stock LT1 parts. Their prices are excellen, too. $300 for head.
