ok guys i am in need of a t56 tranny in the dfw area now and i was wondering if you guys know if there is any difference between the lt1 t56 and the ls1 t56. this is going in my s10 seeing as my 5 speed has broken 3 times and this time it is suppose to cost me almost 800 to fix it. so screw that ill do a t56 for a little more. thanks guys

 

Yes, the input shaft is diff, the bellhousiing is too... easier to look for the right one. T56 will be closer to $2k all said and done from what I heard.

 

the LT1 T56's are Borg Warner, and the LS1 T56's are Tremmic, also the way the clutch works is different, and the Tremmics have more problems with clutches and syncros
