Cool Texas, no front license plate, passes House

Texas House passes HB 3540, in article 9...
.
ARTICLE 9. REDUCTION IN NUMBER OF LICENSE PLATES ISSUED
SECTION 9.01. Subchapter A, Chapter 502, Transportation
Code, is amended by adding Section 502.010 to read as follows:
Sec. 502.010. ISSUANCE AND DISPLAY OF LICENSE PLATE. (a)
Notwithstanding anything in this code to the contrary, including
Section 502.180, the department shall issue only one license plate
for attachment at the rear of the vehicle for which the plate is
issued.
(b) Notwithstanding anything in this code to the contrary,
including Section 502.404(a), a person is entitled to operate on a
public highway a vehicle that displays only one license plate if the
plate is attached at the rear of the vehicle. A person may operate
on a public highway a vehicle that displays two license plates if
both plates were assigned by the department for the registration
period as a set of plates.
(c) In any provision of this code that relates to the
issuance or display of "license plates," "plates," or a "set of
plates," the term means only one license plate.

SECTION 9.03. This article takes effect November 1, 2005.

argh.. And i just mounted mine on my front air dam after getting a warning after pulling out from Ennis a few weeks ago.

Ah well.. Good news!

Thank God!! I have gotten 2 no front license plate citations( 1 in each car). Then i got the bracket and i think it makes the front look like crap. YAY i get to take that crap off.

This will make the intercooler install alot easier. I already planned to leave it off anyway, but now I'll be legal.

I dont have a front license plate, and I havnt gotten stopped or anything. Its been like 4 months.

Thats cool, but I still dont run one. First thing that came off when I bought the Camaro. Got one ticket for it, but I was already getting one for speedng. It was also the first thing to come of the GTP. I've got one warning for it.

holy sheet that's good news! I hate driving my car around with no front license plate and always knowing the cops have a reason to pull me over if they want to be jerks. I hate even more the way a vette looks with a plate on the front so I just choose the first option and hope for the best. FTP!!!

sbout time, now if we can get the stickers back on the plate like it used to be to have a clean windshield.
