So I am on the George Bush....
I see a cop up ahead and lots of people grouped around him. The cop is going about 58 in a 60 and people are verrry slowly passing him. I bet I am one of 20 cars in this group and he pulls ME over because I have no front plate.
He does give me a verbal warning and I see about 10 other cars wiz by without plates. Unreal.
You would think they would want to go out and catch speeders or stop real crime.....I just had to vent.

What city was the cop from? I was ticketed twice in my old IROC for no front plate. I tend to believe it's the dumbest law ever. Sorry about the hassle, good thing you got out of it though.
Kyle
I didn't catch where he was from, but it was in between 75 and the North tollway.
I have seen a ton more cops out there lately since they had their first head on collision due to some idiot crossing over 100 (?) feet of grass to get to the other lanes.....

I'm working right off 635 right now @ Hillcrest. I have only seen one cop in this area since I got the job out here a month ago. I'll keep my eyes peeled though because I'm paying a no front plate ticket this monday.

Has anyone ever tried keeping the front plate inside the car and when/if you get pulled over, throwing it up in the windshield? I mean our cars are so steeply raked that I dont think you could really notice from a distance.

The judge would say guilty...

Yup.. It's legal
... Many cops frown upon it - but it's still "displayed at the front of the vehicle" ...
