setting back odometer?

i'm turning my 97 camaro into the dealership to go towards paying off the rest of my newly bought 99 z28. on my car title it has 78k miles on it, but i recently just went over 100k. 100,112 exactly on the odometer. i want to put the odometer at 98k just to keep it under 100k, because the dealership gives me like 2grand less just for being over 100k. so does anyone know how to do it.

That is prett funny!!

But seriously, that might be illegal....check your state laws first....you could get in pretty deep for something like that.....I know there's fines involved.....

Actually, I believe it's a felony...and everytime you get it inspected they input the miles into a database logged in with you Vin # so yeah it's not worth it.

Re: setting back odometer?

The district attorney calls it criminal fraud, and it will cost you alot more than $2k if you're caught. Sounds like you are aware of the risks, good luck selling it either way.

Re: setting back odometer?

Since the dealer seems to already know it has more than 100K (How would you know the $2K deduction otherwise...?), do you think they are going to give you more money for it if you bring it back w/98,xxx miles???
