SA: Sonic Meet Tuesday 1/21 8pm
I'll be there.
Hopefully I'll get my exhaust fixed before I get there...
I dunno if the stock V6 exhaust is inherently weak, or LS1 cars suffer the same problem, but my intermediary pipe continues to slip out. Any sort of fish-tail or wheel hop will shake it loose.
causing a buzz and rattle. With bumps, the exhaust clangs against something, which sounds like the body?
So, for now until I actually replace the exhaust with a performance one, I'm just going to have it spot welded in place.
I figure should I ever need to remove that pipe, I can always bust out the air-chisel and knock off the spot weld.
In retrospect, backing off could also fix the problem but what fun is that??? Stock exhausts' were never meant to sustain that abuse. Of course, Lower Control Arms and a good Torque Arm would help to kill the wheel hop. But having a students' budget is a real PITA. Oh well.
Anyway, I plan on showin' up.
See ya'll there.

The engine is getting rebuilt again. The original motor along with 3 to 4 others were crap. The first engine builder put in some crappy sleeves, they cracked and coolant got in the engine and caused it to hydrolock. So right now it should be another 2 to 3 weeks for the new engine to be in and back in town. I'm not holding my breath or crossing my fingers after all of the previous due dates had been made. I'll just have to wait and see what happens and take it from there.
Too late
We have just found this forum and it's too late to run across town to meet some fellow enthusiasts. We purchased our Z28 two days ago and the new F-body is totally foreign to us. Both of us have owned Camaros in the past, and we thought the last year would be a sweet investment.
Is this a car club or just a group meeting to have a good time? Is it every Tuesday or just hit and miss days? We are also interseted in going to Ennis if there is a large gathering intending on going. I want my girl to race there if she can be used to the car by then... too bad this means less driving time for me!
-A little bit about us-
We are live in boyfriend and girlfriend. I am substitute teaching and attending college and she is a elementary behavior disorder teacher and has just completed her masters. Both of us are basically car literate, just not mechanical engineers. Due to the car having 5,000 miles we currently have no plans on major modifications, but would love to see what all of you have done to make billowing clouds of smoke.

Welcome to the club Jack and Dee...and congrats on the purchase of your Camaro. I'm sure you'll be VERY happy with your new investment. Our F-body club has been around for quite some time here in San Antonio, and I feel you've hit it at it's best time. Ben (Bloodztone) is the person I would consider the most active in our group (and will probably have the fastest car outta the bunch once it's done). The latest meet I was to was similar to the others I've been to...if you don't like cars, you don't want to be around this group
I'm hoping, along with a few others, to make it to Ennis. Check in on this board when it gets closer to get some more details on the trip.
Oh, and don't worry...we'll have you charging up that credit card in no time (ls1motorsports, thunderracing, summit)

Like Ken said, welcome and yes you will be extremely pleased with your investment. We meet every Tuesday at the Sonic on I-10 and DeZavala and I'll always post it. We're a club/hangout that just likes cars and seeing what new things everyone has picked up. We're a pretty close group and everyone is helpful. Since we're so diverse people can help out with quite a few things car and non-car related. If you have any questions or need any other info please feel free to email me at bloodztone@yahoo.com .
We also have a bi-monthly meet at Hooters on 281 at 12:30pm on the 2nd Saturday of the month and at 7pm on the 4th Saturday of the month. The place is still up in the air until someone comes up with a better one.
Occasionally we will goto Harpers on Friday night and hit the track once in awhile. And for the Ennis meet I'll be posting once again soon on times and meeting place for sure once I get some more info from the Austin guys. I hope to see you all out at the meets soon.

Do we give then an honorary Fruit basket for joining? I never got one

where were ya'll after Sonic, when I was changing out my thermostat in the HEB parking lot at 2:30 AM. Wow it was cold.
...out there scraping off gasket by flashlight...fun!
'Drake. I don't like parties to die so I am usually last one to leave. I am normally there till about 11 to 11:30 with no plans afterwards. If you are a night peron lets get together later on after your class, go cruise or hit a late night grub-site.
