Paging Ryan
Do you work this Saturday? I just had a big problem with my car today. No overdrive. It has been making a grinding noise in the rear for about 2 weeks now. I thought it was the rear springs. They were off the mounts so I put them back on yesterday but the grinding was still there. Now, on 281 today, no overdrive and Drive takes a few seconds to engage. Did I blow out my rear? On my car. I need someone to check it out soon, since it's my only car.
Thanks
Thanks
I hope not. I just put a new trans in 2 years ago. Guess I better dig out the paper work on the warranty, just in case. All the other gears work, it just takes a little longer for them to kick in and the OD is dead.
me? if so i do work tommorow

Oops. My bad. Yes, that was for you. I will bringing my car to Gunn (Pontiac?) this morning. I called but they said you just left so I just missed you at work. Does this sound like gears or the trans? OD works at slow speed, maybe up to about 20 mph, and D works but I have to let off the gas to get it to shift. This is sort of what happened when my trans went out but I still had OD then. It still has the grinding noise coming from the rear at low speed when the steering wheel is turned. Sounds like the driveshaft is hitting something. This new thing started Friday.
Ryan, did anyone get a chance to look at my car today? Go ahead with the gear swap, when you can. Let me know if the rear diff fluid looks like the right kind. I had Jiffy Lube change the fluid the day the problem with the rear started. Before the problem started. If it's the wrong kind then they will be paying for that part. I would buy the heads you are selling but I have to pay off an important piece of jewelry first.
